“There are no limits with God;
His resources are far beyond your abilities.

Never say, “I can’t” without saying. “He can.”
Never feel you are weak without knowing that He is strong.

You will never have to hold back due to fear,
Because He is with you---
You will never have to be defeated,
because His victory is yours.

You will never have to settle for the ordinary,
because His life in you extraordinary.

HELLO!!

todobear Busy work week. Working full time takes alot of my time! haha moretime   I miss my days off in the week, but I've managed well, though that first couple weeks I was so tired.  This past week they messed up my schedule so I had to close 3 nights instead of 2 that we are only supposed to have to do. But I have off today and Sunday, so it's nice to have the whole weekend off.

I'm doing laundry, stuff around the house, baking, etc....Need to run out to Sam's Club and Target later on.  It was nice to sleep in and leisurely stay in my robe and drink coffee and check computer stuff this morning. I'm always rushed during the week so I haven't had much time on here lately.

friendsforever The Boss that hired me and came 2 years ago to the store (same week I did) transferred to a store closer to her home so she'd have less of a commute. I understand, but she will be missed. She is a christian and a nice person, easy to work for, & a great boss, we had a kindred spirit & became friends.  The other co-manager also left-2 weeks before her! So we've had alot of change at work.

So the new boss is a guy who has been managers at other stores but never worked at Hobby Lobby. So far this week he's been doing ok, we'll see as the Christmas rush starts how he does. lol

So what's been going on other than work?

halloween We helped at our church's Harvest festival on Halloween. My mom came with hubby and me too and we each monitored a game the kids played and gave them candy. It was a fun evening. I love getting involved at church.   I still have pics to upload this weekend. Katie dressed up as "Where's Waldo" and went to Madison's Freak fest with her friends.

1edf62f6db6db3b25ab507143d1f7ba37ce99778 And of course I went out the day after Halloween to find the 50% off candy sales to stock up.  chocofix

I took my mom to breakfast at Perkins and shopping last Saturday. I had neglected her all week since I started working full time so I hadn't spent much time with her. shopyeahblinkie We had a nice 4 hours together.

That same day we had to make a trip to the Sprint Store in Madison since we dont' have one here. icon_phonecall My cell died (only few months old) the screen went black but I could hear texts coming in!  So I needed it replaced. It was hard waiting and not having a phone, especially since we dont' have a house phone anymore. I got it back Wednesday. It had more ring tones on it, which was nice. I really do like this phone and the touch screen.

Product Image Sheridan Espresso Leather 3PC Double Storage Ottoman with Tray Plus 2 Side OttomansI just ordered this 3 piece Coffee table/2 side ottomans. Awesome deal at Target.com. Free shipping, $10 off (use code target10), 3% back shopping target thru Ebates.com, AND I got 5% cash back using my Discover card.

I saw a coffee table like this at World Market, but it was too pricey. So then saw that Target sold them and waited for a sale. the top flips over to use as a tray and you can store blankets or whatever inside.

I plan on finding 2 recliners to match this, waiting for a good deal, of course! LOL

cooking Haven't had much time lately to experiment and bake for hubby with his Gluten free foods. Just trying to get a dinner made each night we'll all eat is challenging. haha

Baking & Pancake Mix (3 Boxes of 4lbs) Ships Ground OnlyI did find on Amazon.com an awesome deal on PAMELA'S GLUTEN FREE PANCAKE MIX.  We tried a sample from the dietician and it was good and "normal" tasting. My store sells this for $17.50 for a 4 lb bag. You can make ANY baked good using this mix and there's alot of recipes on the back of the bag.

Well going thru Amazon I have a free year of Prime shipping so it is shipped to my door for $13.50 a bag. BUT....if I sign up for their "subscribe & save" it goes down to $11.33 a bag.  (I'll automatically receive a new shipment of this item in intervals I choose (like every 6 months) at this discount price. Plus, all subscription orders ship free.)

Great bargain, then I don't have to try to mix up my own gluten free flour blend (which I have plenty of recipes for, this is easier and we know it tastes good).

Don't forget to "fall back" tonight. Turn your clocks back one hour for daylight savings time. extra hour of sleep!

girls I have a full week coming up. Besides working all week, we have our annual Holiday Open Heart ladies event at church Tuesday night and our monthly Ladies Card Making class Friday night.  2 fun events!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

HouseMouseDesigns2003-9

HELLO!!

coffeekatiebrownWell my first week of working full time went well. I was tiredMG-HFSleeping though by Friday morning.  My job is really "physical" and it was 5 straight 8-9 hour days~I'll have to get used to it.  I know there are many women who have worked full time outside the home and then do all their stuff at home too. garfield_3 It's hard, so you have to stay organized, make lists, delegate jobs to kids/hubby, multi task big time, run errands before/after work, etc...!

My 2 nights of closing were Monday and Wednesday and it was with the Assistant Manager, which was good, she tends to be less strict than the managers so we were all out of there by 8:30pm.

crafty Friday night I went to our monthly ladies' rubber stamping group. As always it was a fun night out with the girls. cm-stamp-friendsareforever We made some cute cards. We're going to start making a seasonal scrapbook page each month too along with our cards so by the end of the year next year we will have a years worth of pages done. Some of the ladies are just getting into scrapbooking so this will help them get started. I think it's a great idea.

homesweethome Saturday I had off, so I did some chores & a load of laundry, went grocery shopping, & spent some time with hubby in the evening going to a few of his favorite stores (menards & farm n fleet).

mbi4  Today we went to church and it was a really good missions service, came out feeling very refreshed. MG-HFLaugh

bigfish Hubby went fishing early this morning before church and caught this big fish. This is his favorite hobby, sad when it gets too cold for him to go.

packers The Packers lost today~so hubby was MG-HFWowbummed about that. Though the Badgers won last night.

He went out and trimmed all my bushes/flowers for me before it got too cold, so thankful he did, cause I hate gardening!

cookinggirl I vow this week to try a little harder in my dinner meals. MG-HFPlease  I make hubby is lunch each day for work but dinners have been hit and miss and too many leftovers or quick meals last month. MG-HFShameSo I've tried making it a priority on Sundays to get my meals set for the week and start some of that cooking if I don't have anything going on that day besides church in the morning.  The kids have missed some of the casseroles I used to make before hubby went dairy free/gluten free/onion free.  So I made them up their favorite mexican casserole for one night this week.

It really helps to have some meals made up for the week because by the time I've come home from work I dont' feel like cooking and half the time I don't eat much dinner myself. I'm happy to eat a yogurt or sandwich or a bowl of oatmeal. MG-HFCrazy LOL But I know Katie and hubby will want to eat "dinner foods".

mixing2 So I today I spent a few hours in the kitchen and made up some meals & also made hubby his gluten free peanut butter cookies. cookies_expat    (Still trying to figure out the gfree flour blends and when I master that it will be easy to whip out any bread or cookie or muffin recipe just substituting the gfree flour for the regular flour in the recipe. It seems everyone and their dog sells their own special blend of all purpose gluten free flour, well how do I know which one is best? So I'm reading reviews and the recipes listed to make your own. MG-HFWow It costs a small fortune to buy some of these gfree products in the store. I've printed out a lot of recipes I need to go thru and organize in a binder.)

crockpotforbknk Dinner Meals for 2 weeks: (most are gfree for hubs)

  1. Grilled Steak, mashed potatoes, & green beans
  2. Grilled Chicken, wild rice, veggies & salad
  3. Chili & cornbread
  4. Mexican Casserole for the kids & Tamale Pie & veggies for hubby
  5. Baked Pork Chops, Baked Sweet potatoes, & steamed veggies
  6. Gluten free pizza and salad
  7. Left over or Must Go night
  8. Turkey Brats, french fries & salad
  9. Turkey Italian Sausages, White Rice, & stir fry veggies
  10. Taco Salad & refried beans
  11. Enchilada Stack, mexican rice, & corn
  12. Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, & gluten free pancakes
  13. Lean Burgers, fries, & salad
  14. Spicy Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas & creamed corn

cozy_home Now I'm going to go relax and do nothing but watch some shows on the DVR before bedtime. I haven't had too much extra time latey to watch my regular shows or sit and just do nothing but veg.

gbi_kidz9_misc_pumpkin4 HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

SOMETHING TO PONDER:

Feeling tired today?

Coffee Cup photo by1HappySnapper (flickr) I wake weary...

I reach reluctantly for my Bible wishing I could reach for covers to pull over my head instead.

It turns out I'm not the only one who has ever felt this way.

I read of Gideon and how he is hiding (sounds a bit like pulling the covers) grain from the enemies of the Israelites.

Right there in the middle of that unlikely moment God sends a message to Gideon. It's about fighting, victory, how everything will be different from now on.

It's these six words I love most:

"Go in the strength you have..." (Judges 6:14)

That phrase follows me out of bed and into the car. I think it as miles whiz by on the way to work. What strength do I have?

Slowly I realize I don't have much at all (especially today). But I do have His strength.

And what kind of strength is that?

The kind that is made perfect in weakness. (2 Cor 12:9)

That's great news for the broken, messy, and worn out (and aren't we all?).

And even if we were as strong as we'd like to be, it would still pale in comparison...

God's weakness is far stronger than the greatest of human strength. (1 Cor 1:25)

So here's truth worth getting out of bed for, the kind that's like coffee for our hearts. God served it up to Gideon first and He still offers it to us every morning (especially on the ones when we feel weary)--

god-my-strength

Go in the strength you have...

and I will be the strength you need.

My BIG news.....

trustinthelord

HELLO!!

Well I'm back with the BIG news about me and Mark jr.

200px-HobbyLobbyStowOhio  Mark Jr & I got a promotion at work.

My boss went to a big meeting last week and she said Hobby Lobby is restructuring some of their depts & money for each store. So that was good news to us we would get more help with cashiers, etc...

So Mark Jr got hired FULL time-head front end cashier.

(Congrats Mark you earned it! ) She really likes him and he is great with the customers, his drawer is never short, and he's a good worker.  He had been trying to find a 2nd job and it wasn't working out. This is so much better and God always provides, even when we don't see it coming. He can now start saving $ for his own car or to move out, etc...

Then my boss said some of the Depts are being redone and some will go down to part time so will go up to full time dept heads in each area. Well I've been in my Needleworks Dept as a part time person for almost 2 years now and did fine keeping it up, but now they wanted a full time person in charge of it~since I'm part time she said they'd move me to go help as the Fabrics dept part time worker. Well I didn't like that.   LOL I'm in fabrics alot since it's next to my dept and I cut alot of fabric but I didn't want to be in charge of that dept.

So I asked her "what if I wanted to go full time and stay in Needleworks?" She was surprised because I was offered full time last year and didn't want it.  She was very happy and said I'd be a great asset as a full time worker there (cause she knows how much work she can get out of me~I'm a great multi-tasker and she always tells me how fast I get things done. haha

So I called hubby to talk to him about it and she talked to her district manager & she gave me the position & I took it. She was thrilled & so was I!  LOL

It's a $3/hr raise & I'm guaranteed 35-40 hrs a week. Mostly 40 hours during the end of October to end of January. I do have to close 2 nights a week though.

Starts today, I work 8 hrs and close tonight!  I'm glad our store closes at 8pm, after recovery most of the time they are out of there by 9pm, so that's not too bad if I only have to do that 2 nights a week.

I never really wanted to work full time, but I know there are things we need to save $ to fix around the house, etc.... God always provides and knows what we need. I will just have to juggle my time even more so now.

We're supposed to have a meeting today where she announces this about Mark jr and me and what other changes are taking place. We had to keep quiet about this at work for the last 4 days.

So I'm getting stuff done around the house here this morning before I leave. It's wierd going in later cause I'm usually there most days at 8 or 9am.

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY EVERYONE!!

ENOUGH

And this same God who takes care of me will
supply all your needs from his glorious riches,
which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

HELLO!  welcometomyblinkie1

Surprised?-- I know it's been only 6 days & I'm back here already! haha  I'm going to try to blog each week.  signbloggingsmile

hobbylobby Hope you all had a good week. Mine was good and busy. We got more hours at work since we're starting the 4th quarter so I worked about 10 hours over what I normally do for part time. Glad that I had both Saturday and Sunday off this weekend to get a bunch of stuff done since I worked 5 days this week.

todo I got alot done today. Ran errands. Uploaded pics, cleaned out fridge, vacuumed, washed the bedding, got food for the week, took my mom grocery shopping, put mexican chicken in the crockpot for Monday's dinner. And I just baked a gluten free chocolate mint cake for hubby and a pan of chocolate mint brownies for the rest of us.  I still need to finish up some laundry, organize my coupons, and color my hair tonight.

I made my jello cups for the week. Funny-but I am addicted to popcicles and sugar free jello. I make jello cups for 5 days and take one each day to work along with my sugar free yogurt and a fruit. I eat the same thing everyday, just change up the flavors. It's cheap and I like it (doesn't make me nauseaus like alot of foods do) and it's easy. LOL

1candle  It has been feeling like Fall the past few weeks. But these last few days have been warmer-we must be getting our Indian summer.

SOMETHING TO PONDER:

You can do this!

Sometimes the journey is a little longer and the way a little steeper than we imagined.

And we sit right down and say,

"I thought I could do this."

You can, girl, you can.

Get back up.

Stand tall.

Look behind you and see how far you've come.

Look ahead and remember where you're going.

Look next to you and see Who's with you. Then take that step.

Just a small one.

Just the next one.

Then another.

That's all it takes.

Not perfection. Just perseverance.

Not speed. Just stubborness.

You're doing well. You're going to make it.

You've got more strength than you know,

and we're cheering with Him, "Go, girl, go!"

One year ago today...

BESTILL

HELLO!!

DSCN0898 It was 1 yr ago today that my dad died. It went by quickly yet seems so unreal. I am so thankful for God's strength and peace that got me thru this past year. ♥ It helps to have great family & friends to help us thru too.

http://gazettextra.com/obits/2009/oct/06/donald-ladd-i/  His obituary from last year is still online.

This morning we are going to early service at church. Then some of the family is meeting up at my mom's house to honor my dad. (wish we could all be there, but not all the family that lives here in Wis. was able to make it today).

We're cooking out & playing bingo--2 things my dad loved to do. We'll be enjoying his favorite candy (licorice & orange slices) & sharing memories of him.

We're going to Skype with some family later. My niece and her husband and my nephew live in Missouri and my brother from Oklahoma came to visit them this weekend. Glad he was able to be with some family on this day.

Listening to this song this morning is really ministering to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mgob5afanUg

I made this digital scrapbook to remember him. Here's the link if you want to check it out. It only cost me $2.99 in shipping, new customers get a book free, great deal!

http://www.pixable.com/Album/viewer.php?mode=edit&aid=15905

I still can't believe he's gone. I miss him more and more everday. Enjoy his memory with me. I love you Dad! ♥
